Princess Diana's former butler has shared a glimpse of the royal family's pets over the years, and revealed The Firm are passionate animal lovers.
Paul Burrell, 60, from Cheshire, took to Instagram to post pictures of the Queen's corgis at Sandringham and Balmoral Castle, and Princess
Diana riding, during his 10 year career in the nineties.
Paul also reminisced over the Diana's weekend trips to Highgrove with Prince William and Prince Harry, telling how they insisted on bringing their hamster and goldfish, and revealed the late Princess had planned on buying a golden Labrador before her tragic death.

Paul, seen carrying the Queen's Dachshund Piper off a Royal flight, also revealed that the Queen kept an aviary of budgies at Windsor Castle, and joked that the pecking order was "horses dogs husbands and kids"
Sharing a series of behind-the-scenes throwback pictures to his Instagram account, he wrote: 'We are a nation of animal lovers and the Royal family is no exception.
'The Queen’s love for animals is well known and I witnessed this at first hand.
'It is a little known fact that she had an aviary of green and blue budgerigars at Windsor Castle. This love of animals was instilled in Prince William and Prince Harry by both Prince Charles and Princess Diana.'
He added: 'As the Queen once said to me , about her Corgis ”......they give me unconditional love”.

Speaking in a short clip posted to his account, he wrote: 'We had a saying at Buckingham palace "horses dogs husbands and kids", and in my time we had nine corgis and a labrador living with us at the apartments.
'At the weekend Princess Diana would travel from Kensington Palace to Highgrove with Princes William and Harry, with a hamster in a cage and two goldfish in a bowl squashed between them on the back seat.
'William and Harrry were eager to play with Tigger and Roo, the Prince of Wales' two Jack Russells and to ride their pony Smokey.
'Princess Diana had lots of pets as a child, and in the last summer of her life Princess Diana had made plans to buy a golden Labrador, but that was not to be'.

One picture showed Paul carrying the Queen's sausage dog Piper off the Queen’s Flight, while another sees the monarch's Corgis at the front door of Balmoral Castle.
Elsewhere the Queen’s Corgis can be seen at the front door of Sandringham House, and in another slide Paul and Princess Anne’s Corgi Apollo is picturedat the front door of Gatcombe Park.
Burrell, 60, served as a footman for the Queen and later butler to Diana for 10 years until her death in 1997.
In the years since he has spoken often of his connections to the royal family and published a number of memoirs.
