White House insiders call for President Biden to not seek re-election: Report

A senior White House official who has watched President Biden age in recent months, while also speaking more slowly and appearing more fatigued behind closed doors, says the Commander in Chief should not seek re-election, the New York Times reported.

In an article posted by the New York Times on Saturday, which focused on more supporters seeking ways to push Biden out while he continues to seek re-election, a senior White House official who insisted on anonymity, offered his opinion on whether Biden should serve another four years.

The senior official has reportedly worked with Biden during the 2020 campaign, his vice presidency and during his current presidency.

The New York Times learned that after watching Biden in private, in public and while traveling with him, the White House official no longer believes the president has what it takes to campaign vigorously to defeat former President Trump.

“The official, who insisted on anonymity in order to continue serving, said Mr. Biden had steadily showed more signs of his age in recent months, including speaking more slowly, haltingly and quietly, as well as appearing more fatigued in private,” the New York Times reported.
