AT least 14 people have been injured following a tram crash at Universal Studios in California.

Fire crews charged to the famous Hollywood theme park on Saturday night after the Studio Tour ride crashed into a railing.

Investigators suspect the crash was caused by brake issues on the tram, as reported by the CBS affiliate KCAL-TV.

One of the tram cars crashed into a railing, Maria Abal, of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, said.

Cops have revealed between 14 and 15 people were injured but they suffered minor injuries.

Four people were rushed to the hospital, per The Los Angeles Times.Footage showed one person being taken from the scene on a stretcher.

Medics were seen treating people at the scene, per footage shared by KCAL.

More than 100 people can go on the tram at one time, but it's unknown how many were on board at the crash.

“There was a tram incident at the theme park tonight that resulted in multiple minor injuries, confirmed by the LA County Fire Dept,” a Universal Studios Hollywood spokesperson said."We are working to support our guests and understand the circumstances that led to the accident."

The victims have not been identified as investigations continue.

HISTORIC LANDMARK

The Studio Tour is one of the most popular attractions at Universal Studios.

Revelers are taken through the back lot of the park and visit various film sets, ranging from Jaws to Fast & Furious.

The ride lasts around 45 minutes to one hour.

And it has been a feature at the theme park since it opened in July 1964.

The crash happened just as the ride was about to start celebrating its 60th anniversary.

The California Highway Patrol is among the agencies that are leading the probe.Universal Studios Hollywood is home to simulator rides inspired by blockbuster movies, ranging from Transformers to Harry Potter.

The attraction opened in 1964 as a theme park to the public.
