TWO people have died after a devastating blaze ripped through a home - with 40 firefighters scrambled.
Six fire engines raced to the blaze in Walthamstow, north London at 10.25pm last night after nine people called 999.
Firefighters found two people inside the destroyed end-of-terrace house.
Both people were sadly pronounced dead at the scene by ambulance crews.
Cops are now probing the cause of the fire, which was brought under control at 12.22am this morning.
The London Fire Brigade said: "Two people have sadly died following a house fire on Forest Road in Walthamstow."A two-storey end-of-terraced house was destroyed by fire. Half of the roof was also damaged by fire.
"Two people were discovered inside the property by firefighters.
"They were sadly pronounced dead at the scene by London Ambulance Service crews."
A spokesperson added: "The Brigade's 999 Control Officers received nine calls about the fire."The Brigade was called at 2225 and the fire was brought under control by 0022.
"Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters from Walthamstow, Woodford, Leyton and Tottenham fire stations attended the scene.
"The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Brigade and Metropolitan Police."
