Israel Releases New Footage Of Ground Offensive Against Hamas
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) released new footage from their ground operations inside northern Gaza on Saturday as they seek to root out Hamas terrorists who were responsible for murdering 1,400 of their civilians earlier this month.
The footage comes after the IDF softened up the area on Friday night with the most intense airstrikes of the current war, hitting approximately 150 underground sites in Hamas’ vast underground terror tunnels that allow the terrorists to meet, organize, and move undetected throughout Gaza. The terrorists also store weapons, ammunition, and other military supplies in the tunnels.
“Starting in the early evening last night, the IDF, led by combined combat teams of armored, engineering, and infantry forces, is operating on the ground in the northern Gaza Strip,” the IDF said in a statement. “As part of the operation, IDF forces identified terrorist squads that were trying to launch anti-tank missiles and mortar shells and attacked them. In addition, a booby-trapped house was located that was attacked by the forces. Also, armored personnel carriers prepared helicopter gunships to attack a meeting point of Hamas terrorists in a building used by the terrorist organization.”
The statement added that numerous Hamas units were destroyed as they attempted to launch anti-tank missiles at Israel’s tanks and another bobby-trapped house containing Hamas terrorists was also eliminated.
Israeli soldiers were also seen praying and worshipping God before entering Gaza, asking for protection and success during their military operation.
IDF Chief of Staff LTG Herzi Halevi said that the IDF was unleashing “accurate and heavy fire” at terrorist targets throughout Gaza as Israel continues to execute its mission of dismantling Hamas, re-securing its border, and securing a release of the hostages.
“So far, we have stabilized the line of defense, we have attacked, the enemy has many hundreds of dead, his infrastructure is destroyed,” he said. “The situation in Gaza is the result of the criminal actions of Hamas, where the responsibility lies. The best fighters and commanders are well trained and prepared, now operating in Gaza. I met them in the last few days, all of them imbued with mission and belief in the righteousness of our way, the way of the State of Israel.”
