Don't be scared! Adorable moment toddler covers her dog’s ears when fireworks explode nearby

This is the heartwarming moment a two-year-old girl covered her dog's ears when firecrackers were set off in southern China.

When the little girl hears the sounds of the pyrotechnics, she is seen quickly putting her hands over the ears of the black and brown dog.

The video was filmed on Monday, January 31, a day before the Chinese New Year, in Gao'an, Jiangxi province.

The young girl is seen patting the head of the dog, before placing both hands over its ears as the sound of the fireworks intensifies.

She briefly takes her hands off the dog's ears and places a reassuring hand on its head, before moments later the whining sound returns and she returns to protecting the animal's ears.

The child, dressed in a bright pink coat, appears to be mimicking her mother's actions as she protects the frightened pooch.

Her mother Ms Wang said every time firecrackers were set off nearby, she would cover her daughter's ears and tell her there was nothing to be afraid of.

The high-pitched sound of the firecrackers is known to distress many animals, including dogs.Help me, please! Social media footage shows the stuck dog staring at onlookers in China

Last year rescuers were forced to hammer down a wall in an apartment in China to save a dog after it got stuck while trying to hide from the bangs of a firecracker.

Neighbours believed that the mutt, which belonged to a local, had been frightened by the festive bangs, but no one was certain how it had managed to squeeze into the enclosed partition.

The incident took place on February 13 when the locals were celebrating the Chinese, or Lunar New Year.
