Air mail! Moment Yodel delivery driver hurls package 12ft up onto window sill where it gets STUCK on bird spikes

A shocking video shows a dopey Yodel driver throwing a parcel 12ft up onto a window sill and leaving it stuck on anti-bird spikes.

Suzi Ashworth, 42, from Folkestone, Kent, had to get her neighbour to climb up a ladder and use a broom to retrieve her parcel.

The artist received a notification on Monday, January 31 from Yodel saying her parcel had been left in a 'safe place on her porch'.

Baffled because she doesn't have a porch, Suzi went along the street asking local businesses about it before she discovered the parcel up on an office window in the building she lives in.After discovering the parcel stuck outside the building where she lives in Folkestone, Kent, Suzi Ashworth, above, tried to get it down

CCTV captured the careless courier standing in the middle of the road and looking up at a window with the package in hand.

Without even attempting to knock on a door or speak to anyone, he then wanders closer before launching the item into the air towards an office window above an art studio.

The parcel lands directly onto the anti-bird spikes, impaling the display item inside.

He then nonchalantly snaps a picture on his phone to show proof of the delivery before wandering away.

Footage from later on that day shows Suzi trying to retrieve the item on a ladder but unable to reach it with a broom handle.

Two men and two women join forces to help to hold the base of the ladder and retrieve the parcel from the metal spikes.

Suzi complained to Yodel who said they had taken 'drastic measures' to make sure the incident was not repeated.

Speaking today, Suzi said: 'Maybe he deserved some measure, retraining, or a telling off.

'But I think the real problem with Yodel is not one individual employee but a culture of unrealistic delivery schedule demands on employees combined with the distrustful approach towards their staff in the form of GPS tracking exact employee movements.

'Plus their deliberately difficult customer contact system.

'We borrowed a ladder and had some difficulty getting it down as the office window it landed near was unable to open for some reason.

'It was completely wrecked as it was a polystyrene display item and was impaled by the pigeon spikes, dented by the throw and then tapped with a broom handle until we could free it.'

The delivery company has messaged the annoyed artist, saying: 'I'm sorry for the challenges you've faced thus far.

'I can assure you that our driver's conduct has been flagged with our management team at Aylesham Service Centre.

'We received feedback that drastic measures have been taken to prevent a recurrence of this nature.

'We appreciate your feedback and I hope we will be able to restore your faith in us.'

A Yodel spokesman said: 'We take driver behaviour very seriously and this incident clearly does not meet our standards.

'We have taken appropriate action with the driver following an investigation and are in touch with the customer to apologise.'
