Shock and paw! Moment dog smashes through porch window and terrifies FedEx driver as he delivers parcel

A FedEx driver got the fright of his life when an overprotective dog burst through the window of a house he was delivering a parcel to.

Footage captured in Lexington, Kentucky, shows the four-year-old English Pointer Gus attempt to leap out of the window as the delivery driver walks along the front porch.

Pieces of glass fall to the floor as the shaken FedEx worker, who initially thought it was an explosion, walks away from the property and the barking dog.The FedEx driver delivers the parcel to the property in Lexington, Kentucky, on January 7

The delivery driver then walks down the snow-covered slope at the front of the property in an effort to get back to his van.

However he almost falls over as he hurries away, dropping what appears to be his phone onto the ground.

He quickly picks up the phone again before making his way to his vehicle.

Owner Britney Harper said she was not at home when she received an alert on her phone informing her that her package had been delivered on January 7.

Just moments later, she received a phone call from the FedEx branch in Lexington telling her that her dog had broken her window.

She told MailOnline: 'FedEx called me to say that Gus had broken out my window. I didn't think much of it because he has broken out a small pane of glass in the past so I thanked them for the call.

'I was not far from home so I decided to go back to make sure Gus was OK and had not been cut by the glass.

'He had just a small cut on his leg, but I was shocked to see the window the way it was.

'I sent the video to the person who had contacted me from FedEx and she said the driver thought there was an explosion in the house at first. I can see why.

'We were very fortunate to have a handyman come by within a few minutes to repair the window as it was in the single digits that day.'

The footage has now received more than 5,000 views on YouTube.
