Greta Thunberg Unloads On Joe Biden: ‘It’s Strange That People Think Of Joe Biden As A Leader’

Far-left activist Greta Thunberg slammed Democrat President Joe Biden in an interview with The Washington Post on Monday, saying that it was “strange” that people considered Biden to be a leader on climate issues.

Thunberg, who is known for making extreme remarks about the climate, took her shot at Biden when asked if she was “inspired by any of the world leaders,” including Biden.

“If you call him a leader — I mean, it’s strange that people think of Joe Biden as a leader for the climate when you see what his administration is doing,” Thunberg responded.

“The U.S. is actually expanding fossil fuel infrastructure,” she claimed. “Why is the U.S. doing that? It should not fall on us activists and teenagers who just want to go to school to raise this awareness and to inform people that we are actually facing an emergency.”

“People ask us, ‘What do you want?’ ‘What do you want politicians to do?’ And we say, first of all, we have to actually understand what is the emergency,” she claimed. “We are trying to find a solution of a crisis that we don’t understand. For example, in Sweden, we ignore — we don’t even count or include more than two-thirds of our actual emissions. How can we solve a crisis if we ignore more than two-thirds of it? So it’s all about the narrative. It’s all about, what are we actually trying to solve? Is it this emergency, or is it this emergency?”

Thunberg is notorious for making over-the-top histrionic remarks combined with petulant demands of world leaders to solve what she deems to be a climate crisis.

“One year ago I came to Davos and told you that our house is on fire. I said I wanted you to panic,” Thunberg said during a speech at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, back in 2020. “And, for the record, when we children tell you to panic we’re not telling you to go on like before.”

Notable lines from Thunberg include:

  • A 2020 op-ed in The Guardian: “We demand that at this year’s forum, participants from all companies, banks, institutions and governments immediately halt all investments in fossil fuel exploration and extraction, immediately end all fossil fuel subsidies and immediately and completely divest from fossil fuels. We don’t want these things done by 2050, 2030 or even 2021, we want this done now – as in right now.”
  • Thunberg said of politicians in 2019: “We will make sure that we put them against the wall and they will have to do their job to protect our futures.”
  • In a 2019 op-ed, Thunberg claimed: “Fossil fuels are literally choking the life from us. That action must be powerful and wide-ranging. After all, the climate crisis is not just about the environment. It is a crisis of human rights, of justice, and of political will. Colonial, racist, and patriarchal systems of oppression have created and fueled it. We need to dismantle them all. Our political leaders can no longer shirk their responsibilities.”
  • In a 2019 rant at the United Nations, Thunberg said: “Yet, you all come to us young people for hope, how dare you. You have stolen my dreams and my childhood with your empty words and yet I’m one of the lucky ones. People are suffering, people are dying. Entire ecosystems are collapsing. We are in the beginning of a mass extinction and all you can talk about is money and fairytales of eternal economic growth. … You are failing us but the young people are starting to understand your betrayal. The eyes of all future generations are upon you and if you choose to fail us I say we will never forgive you. We will not let you get away with this. Right here, right now, is where we draw the line the world is waking up and change is coming whether you like it or not.”
