The unusual sight turned out to be a stunt by comedy duo Marty and Michael who uploaded the video to their Instagram page dubbed as their 'latest science experiment'.

The pair reportedly bought more than $1,000 worth of chips to see if they could win the birds' trust, according to Nine News.

It's unclear what the final results of the experiment revealed.

Marty and Michael claim on their social media that they do social experiments, comedy sketches, as well as stunts and 'some really disgusting things'.

Last year the two pranksters, whose real names are Michael Broekhuyse, 32, and Martin Sokolinski, 33, stopped play during the AFL Grand Final in a bid to gain viral fame.

The pair ran onto the pitch at the Gabba in Brisbane before swiftly being escorted off the field by security guards.

After their release from jail, they boasted on social media the field invasion was another stunt for a video.

Their antics stopped game play in the first quarter of the clash between the Geelong Cats and Richmond Tigers with one of the men managing to kick a goal before being hauled off the pitch.
