    The woman, who has not been identified, was driving across the San Bartolo stream in the Baja California Sur municipality of La Paz when it flooded due to the strong rains from Tropical Storm Kevin last Wednesday.

    Local media outlets reported that the driver, who was unaccompanied, managed to exit her pickup truck and walked towards the shore before she stopped and hung on to a tree.This is the heroic moment a Good Samaritan braved the dangerous elements of the flash flood waters at a creek in western Mexico and rescued a woman from being swept away.

    Local media outlets reported that the driver, who was unaccompanied, managed to exit her pickup truck and walked towards the shore before she stopped and hung on to a tree.d the woman struggling to hold on for dear life.

    Footage filmed by a family showed Soto maintaining his balance as he walked against the fast-flowing water and reached the woman. 

    Soto managed to drag the woman towards the shore where he was met by his cousin, Diego Soto and two other men who assisted in pulling her to safety.

    'It was exasperating to see a person scream and cry as well as my sister and her children, too,' Nicolás Soto told Radio Formula.

    He recalled the woman repeatedly begging him not to let her go as the force of the creek's fast current picked up more strength.

    'In a way to reassure her, I tell her, 'I'm not going to let you go, calm down.' We reached the shore. She was paralyzed and wanted to vomit,' Soto said.

    The woman, who was in a state of shock, was rushed to a local hospital for treatment, Mexican newspaper El Heraldo de Mexico reported.

    While the eye of Tropical Kevin was 434 miles off the coast of Baja California, its rains caused many rivers to overflow in the area.

    At least five other people were rescued in similar incidents.
