  In a video shared online, Christopher Cruz, 47, can be seen anxiously watching the horror classic Insidious while biting his lip and fidgeting with his hands.

  Cruz is secretly filmed by his friend as he lets out two loud high-pitched screams 

  His wife Melissa, who is sitting on the couch next to him, erupts into a fit of laughter at his reaction.

  Cruz, a Coast Guardsman and graphic designer, shouts an expletive before screaming: 'Are you f*****g kidding me?!' 

  The footage was recorded back in 2011 but has resurfaced online this week. 

  Insidious was released in 2010 and became an instant hit among fans of the paranormal genre. 

  It tells the story of a family desperate to help their son Dalton, who mysteriously falls into a coma during an incident in the attic. 

  They soon realize there is more than meets the eye to their son's condition as they embark on a terrifying journey into the paranormal realm in a quest to bring him back.   

  The film sparked a series of spin offs, including the sequel Insidious: Chapter 2 (2013), and two prequels, Insidious: Chapter 3 (2015) and Insidious: The Last Key (2018).

  By 2020, they had earned a total of $555.057 million worldwide on a combined budget of $26.5 million, according to Forbes.
