The mum-of-one was left with no choice but to undergo gastric sleeve surgery to remove 75 per cent of her stomach in March 2019. She is now 12st and couldn't be happier, adding that it was the 'best thing she's ever done'. Amanda said: 'It makes me feel sick and disgusted that I used to spend £150 per week on food.

She added that she'd 'hate' herself for eating, but was unable to stop and would consume takeaways almost every day.

Amanda said: 'I would have a double Sausage and Egg McMuffin for breakfast and a large doner kebab with chips of an evening.

'I'd spend £80 per week on takeaways, £10 on Coca Cola, £20 on chocolate and crisps and sometimes £20 on alcohol per week.

'My weight caused me to be very depressed and I didn't even realise until I saw a photo of myself.

'I love meeting new people, shopping and having my picture taken.'

She has replaced takeaways for a new healthy lifestyle and has meals such as fish and vegetables.

Amanda recalls trying 'every diet in the book' but she would always pile the pounds back on, and eventually opted for surgery

She said: 'I've gained a new life! I don't even recognise the woman in old photos. I don't have to worry anymore about breaking chairs and everyone staring at me.

'It's not just about losing weight but the confidence you get with it. I try to stay away from carbs now and snacks!'
