Google snaps! Vet caught on camera by the Maps surveillance van does it AGAIN in another spot five years later - in practically the same outfit

  • Charlie Tewson, 32, from Wokingham, took selfie with Google Maps van in 2015
  • He was outside the surgery where he works when he saw camera filming street
  • Jumped at chance to appear again when he saw the van on his break in 2020
  • He made himself hard to miss by throwing his arms into the air in celebration
  • He was on his break from work again and was wearing practically the same outfit A cheeky student who took a selfie with the Google Maps surveillance van five years ago has been caught on camera by the van again - in practically the same outfit.

Vet Charlie Tewson, 32, from Wokingham, was on his lunch break outside the surgery where he works when he saw the camera van filming the street in July 2015.

Running to catch up, he took a funny selfie video with the van - and hilariously he ended up appearing on Google Maps. Vet Charlie Tewson, 32, from Wokingham, was on his lunch break outside the surgery where he works when he saw the Google Maps camera van filming the street in July 2015

So five years later, he literally jumped at the chance to appear on the site again, when he saw the camera van on his lunch break in November 2020.

He has once again ended up immortalised on the internet - this time outside Waterstones in Wokingham, Berkshire. Wearing practically the same outfit as in his first appearance, he made himself hard to miss by throwing his arms into the air in celebration.

Charlie, who still works at the same veterinary surgery, Denton Vets, said: 'I couldn't believe my luck when I saw the van again.

'I don't know anyone else who has seen it as it only seems to come past each street once every few years.

'I saw the van reflected in a shop window and immediately abandoned the friend I was with to catch up to it and strike a pose.

'I probably should have taken another selfie but I thought I would shake things up a bit.

'I love that I've made it onto Google Maps twice! I always like when you're on the website and see people having fun with it.

'I'm surprised that there aren't more people doing ridiculous things when the van comes past - it's very obvious!

'It is strange that I'm on it in two places at the same time. Fingers crossed that I see it a third time!'

His first appearance was in July 2015 in Fleet, Hampshire, and the second was in November 2020 in Wokingham, Berkshire.
