    Two officers were called to the scene by the pet owner, who said their golden retriever had accidentally fallen into the water.

    The temperature that day is said to be about minus 16 degrees Celsius (3.2 degrees Fahrenheit).

    Body camera footage shows the policemen dashing across the park as they rushed to the animal's rescue.

    The animal appeared to be unhurt as it began to wag its tail while shaking off the water after returning to the ground. The officers then led the dog to be reunited with its owner

    The golden retriever can be seen desperately holding onto the iced edge of the lake with half of its body sinking in the freezing water.

    'The dog was shivering and it couldn't move at all,' Shi Shuanlin, one of the officers, later told Pear Video.

    To avoid falling through the ice, Mr Shi slowly approached the trapped canine while kneeling on the frozen surface.

    With one arm held back by his colleague for support, the rescuer reached for the golden retriever with the other hand. He then pulled the dog out of the frozen lake by grabbing its paws.The animal appeared to be unhurt as it began to wag its tail while shaking off the water. The officers then led the dog to be reunited with its owner.

    Social media users praised the officers for their bravery after the footage was shared on Douyin, the Chinese equivalent of TikTok.

    One viewer wrote: 'Thank you guys. Our people feel safe because you are always there for us!'

    Another commenter said: 'They acted so fast. What a heart-warming moment.'
