An elderly woman is recovering after her entire body and face was covered in stings following an attack by a swarm of bees.
A video of the 72-year-old being treated at hospital with anti-venom drugs shows the pensioner with hundreds of the venom-filled stingers covering her face and dozens of dead African bees stuck to her hair.
Two other women aged 65 and 71 who were with her and two policemen, who braved the bees to come to the rescue, were also heavily stung in the attack on Wednesday afternoon in Britânia, Brazil.
The three seniors were fishing in the Tigrinho River close to a bridge when they apparently disturbed the bees which had settled on one of the columns.

The group reported that they had not noticed the presence of the colony before beginning to fish.
Within minutes they were attacked and engulfed in a cloud of angry honey bees numbering well above 10,000.
Motorists driving past on the highway close to location alerted police to the nightmare scene.
Sergeant Valdivino de Oliveira, who helped save the victims said to Brazilian media Mais Goiás: 'By the time we arrived one of the women had already fainted.

'She didn't have anymore strength to fight. She had been bitten all over her body, but her head and face were the most affected.'
The women were under siege for around 10 minutes as they tried to fend off the killer insects and fight for their lives.
Sergeant Oliveria revealed that he didn't have time to put on protection gear before wading into the swarm with colleague Sergeant Willian Costa Silva.
They risked their lives to pull the women to safety.
He said: 'The bees completely surrounded the women. So we drove as close as we could to them, stopped and rushed to push them into our vehicle.'
The windows were left open to give the bees an escape route, but many remained inside the police car and continued to attack.
At the hospital shocked medical staff shook multiple dead bees from the victim's ponytail. Footage shows the venomous insects lying on the floor.
The images also show Sergeant Silva receiving the antidote in an outstretched arm, apparently in some pain.
Two of the elderly victims have been discharged after undergoing a series of exams and receiving medication. The officers were also released within 24 hours.
The elderly woman in the footage remains in hospital and her health is reported to be stable.
