The dog’s owner begrudgingly tied the pooch to a bench on November 22.

A heartbreaking note was left alongside the pup, which read: “Please, I ask you to adopt this dog and take good care of him.

“Leaving my dog here hurts a lot, but I made the decision because my relatives abused him and it was painful to see him in that situation.”

It adds: “So if you read this and you feel moved, please adopt him and look after him.

“If not, please leave the letter here so another person can read it and adopt him. Thanks.”

Members of the animal welfare association Mascotas Coyoacan intervened and approached the nervous puppy in the park.

Volunteers took the shackled pooch to the association’s facilities - and they are now looking for a new home for the sad pup.

The note is believed to have been written by a child, due to mistakes in the handwriting.

They added that they will change the dog’s name from Max to Boston so that it can forget about its past life of abuse and start afresh.
