Shoppers are evacuated from Paris shopping centre following reports of a gunman

Police have evacuated people from a shopping centre in western Paris after someone claimed to have seen a gunman in the area.

Video showed shoppers exiting the 'Les Quatre Temps' shopping centre in La Defense business with their hands raised as police checked for weapons. 

Schools in the area are also being evacuated, those in offices have been told to shelter in place, and trains are no longer stopping at the metro station. 

Checks under way, avoid the sector,' the police department said.
