A second video showed the father and one of the teenagers squaring off while shouting at each other, before the boy spat in the man's face.
'You f**king hit me,' the father yelled. 'Someone call the f***ng cops'.
Bystanders yelled: 'Get the f**k off each other,' as the father and the student shoved each other.
Acting senior sergeant Nick Edwards said the father made a complaint, prompting a police investigation.
'I was blown away by the pack mentality of the students and that they gave no thought to what could have gone wrong with their actions,' act snr sgt Edwards told the Courier Mail.
'To see the student spit in the parent's face was disgusting.'
The Queensland Department of Education said emergency services were called to the school, but couldn't confirm whether the students were punished.
The school is working actively with the families involved and students are being dealt with in line with the school's Responsible Behaviour Plan,' a spokesperson said.
