Seven-month-old boy dies in mysterious circumstances - with police treating the tragedy as ‘suspicious’

A seven-month-old baby has died in suspicious circumstances.
The little boy was taken to Muswellbrook Hospital, in the New South Wales Hunter region, about 3pm on Sunday.
He was in unresponsive when he arrived, and hospital staff were unable to revive him.   
Officers from the Hunter Valley Police District have launched an investigation into his death.

They cordoned off a nearby home and called in specialist forensic officers to examine the crime scene. 
A post-mortem examination will be conducted to establish the cause of death.
It is currently being treated as suspicious.
