Dashcam captures terrifying moment car plunges into hole as bridge collapses in front of it - but the driver escapes unhurt

A bridge crumbled away just yards ahead of a moving car leaving the vehicle trapped in a hole.

The driver miraculously got away unscathed in the incident in Primorye, Russia, last month that was captured on dashcam footage.

A large truck driving in front of Karina Bertnikova's car went over a crack in the road, causing the tarmac to crumble away in its wake.

In the shocking clip, Ms Bertnikova's car can be seen following the much-larger vehicle as they both cross the bridge.

The truck appears to go over an already-visible crack in the tarmac. The weight of it causes a massive piece of the bridge to collapse.

But it's too late for Ms Bertnikova to stop and she - with an audible cry - falls straight into the hole.

The aftermath of the incident is then shown, with the silver saloon car trapped at least five-feet below the surface of the crumbling bridge.

Officials can be seen entering the hole to inspect the car as the camera operator pans around to show what happened.

Bizarrely, a car's horn can be heard and - as the filmer walks out the way - another vehicle passes suggesting that the crumbling structure remained open for use.

'I was very scared, but I'm very glad that I was not injured.'
