Elizabeth Warren says she would be Joe Biden’s running mate

Former Vice President Joe Biden and Sen. Elizabeth Warren at the fourth Democratic presidential debate.

Sen. Elizabeth Warren said Wednesday night that, if asked, she would be the vice presidential running mate of presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden.

Warren revealed her decision in an interview with MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow.

“If he asked you to be his running mate, would you say, ‘yes’?” asked Maddow.

“Yes,” Warren directly replied.

Earlier Wednesday, Warren, who ended her own presidential bid last month, endorsed Biden for president.

Calling him “committed to public service,” Warren said Biden has faced “unspeakable tragedy with fortitude and grace.”

“These experiences animate the empathy he extends to Americans who are struggling, no matter what their story. Empathy matters,” the Massachusetts senator said during a more than than minute video.

“And in this moment of crisis, it is more important than ever that the next president restores Americans faith in good effective government,” she said.

Warren’s endorsement comes a day after President Obama gave his support to his former veep and two days after Sen. Bernie Sanders endorsed Biden.
