Teachers among those killed in Israeli strikes on Lebanon

Several teachers were among the 558 people killed by Israeli strikes in Lebanon on Monday, the minister for education said Tuesday.

Math teacher Layali Ayyash was killed, alongside her husband and two children, Dr. Abbas Al-Halabi posted to Facebook.

Suzy Kajak, the principal of the Kawthariya Al-Sayyad Intermediate School, and sisters Zainab and Fatima Haribi — both teachers — at Shokin Official school, were also killed in the strikes, the minister confirmed.

Al-Halabi “offered his sincere condolences to their families, schools, colleagues and students and asked God to have mercy on them,” the post read.
