Trump Team Rips Biden Campaign Over ‘Disgusting’ Mother’s Day Ad

Former President Donald Trump‘s team excoriated President Joe Biden‘s re-election campaign over a Mother’s Day video ad that cast Trump as bad for women and families ahead of the expected rematch between Trump and Biden in the 2024 contest that is only months away.

“What a sad, miserable, cowardly existence Crooked Joe Biden and his campaign must have to make such a disgusting ad on such a joyous day,” Trump’s team said, per Fox News. “Their lives are obviously filled with anger, hate, and resentment because they clearly suffer from Trump Derangement Syndrome.” They added, “President Trump continues to live rent-free in their pea-sized brains, even on Mother’s Day.”

The “Biden-Harris HQ” account on X posted a video ad on Sunday and claimed Trump “wants to separate mothers from their children and allow laws that rip away IVF access and monitor women’s pregnancies. This Mother’s Day, do the moms in your life a favor: Stop Trump.” The ad itself begins with heartwarming images of women holding a child and text that reads, “Happy Mother’s Day…” What comes next is a record scratch followed by clips painting Trump as being against pregnant women and abortion accessNewsweek reported a Biden campaign official said in an accompanying press release, “The stakes of this election are high for all Americans, but especially moms across our country who will suffer under a second Trump term.” The spokesperson added, “Under Trump, the government will be allowed to monitor their pregnancies, and rip their families apart. … Families depend on moms – and moms deserve a President they can depend on to protect their rights, work to lower their costs, and fight for them. Donald Trump wasn’t and isn’t that President, but Joe Biden is.”

rump said in a recent post to Truth Social that he never said that “some states may choose to monitor women’s pregnancies to possibly prosecute for violating any abortion bans.” He added, “This was made up by Democrats and the Fake News Media. After 50 years, Abortion (sic) is now up to the States, where everybody, Republican and Democrat, plus all legal scholars and experts, have wanted it to be.”

Noting state-level actions to preserve access to abortion in the follow-up to the Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade, Trump concluded, “It is all working, will never go back to the Federal Government, and our Country will soon start uniting on this long contentious issue. At the same time, nobody wants to see abortion in the 7th, 8th, or 9th month or, execution after birth, as some states, like the former Democrat Governor of Virginia said, was permitted. Listen to your heart, but common sense must also be applied. Remember, politicians must also win elections!”
