Trump Responds To De Niro’s Perturbed Courthouse Presser: ‘Looked So Pathetic And Sad’

Former President Donald Trump called Robert De Niro a “Wacko” after the actor appeared for a Biden campaign event outside the Manhattan courthouse where Trump’s hush-money trial continued on Tuesday.

After an invitation from Team Biden, De Niro spoke to the press behind a podium in New York, claiming that American freedoms “will perish from the Earth” if Trump wins in November.

“Under Trump, this kind of government will perish from the Earth. I don’t mean to scare you. No, no, wait, maybe I do mean to scare you. If Trump returns to the White House, you can kiss these freedoms goodbye that we all take for granted,” De Niro said, “And elections? Forget about them. That’s over, that’s done. If he gets in, I can tell you right now, he will never leave. He will never leave. You know that. He will never leave.”

De Niro, 80, added that “we don’t have a choice” but to vote for Biden “to preserve our freedoms and hold on to our humanity.”

Trump responded to the De Niro presser late Tuesday night, writing on Truth Social that the actor “looked so pathetic and sad out there.”

“I never knew how small, both mentally and physically, Wacko Former Actor Robert De Niro was. Today, De Niro, who suffers from an incurable case of TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME, commonly known in the medical community as TDS, was met, outside the Courthouse, with a force far greater than the Radical Left – MAGA,” Trump wrote. “Robert, whose movies, artistry, and brand have gone WAY DOWN IN VALUE since he entered the political arena at the request of Crooked Joe Biden, looked so pathetic and sad out there. Where have you gone Joe DiMaggio!!!”

The actor also exchanged words with some of Trump’s supporters who were also outside the courthouse on Tuesday, according to POLITICO.

“You are gangsters!” De Niro reportedly shouted to which one man responded by telling the actor he was “washed up.”

“F*** you!” De Niro yelled in response.

The press event featuring De Niro marks an increase in the Biden campaign’s focus on Trump’s ongoing criminal trial and could preview a new strategy from Biden as the trial nears its end. The president has stayed quiet on Trump’s hush-money case throughout the campaign, but a report from POLITICO last week cited “four people familiar with internal deliberations” in the Biden administration who said the president is planning to address the trial from the White House once the jury reaches a verdict.

The Biden campaign’s apparent shift in strategy comes as Trump continues to lead the president in most polls, including in each of the seven battleground states, according to the polling average compiled by RealClearPolitics as of Wednesday morning.

“President Trump’s numbers continue to rise, and the best that Biden can do is roll out a washed up actor,” Trump adviser Jason Miller said.
