TOWIE's Amber Turner was slammed after fans spotted an upsetting detail in her jaw-dropping holiday snap with an elephant.

The TV star shared a selection of images from her recent trip to Bali with her Instagram followers, including one showing her meeting the huge mammal.

Amber, 30, wearing a bikini and crochet cardigan, paired with a matching skirt, looked relaxed as she posed with the elephant.

She was later joined by her TOWIE co-stars for a group snap.

Yet despite the happy smiles in the Ubud district of Bali - fans raised concern as the elephant's tusks had been cut.

One took to the comments section to put: "Why are the end of the tusks cut off," with a crying face.Another added: "That poor elephant has had its tusks sawn off and is being exploited for your entertainment.

"You were posing with a slave!"

Some then speculated the animal may have had an infection, hence the change.

An elephant's tusks are actually enlarged teeth - and continue growing through their lives.Yet they will not grown back once they have been cut off.

According to website thecalltoconserve.com, it is common to cut an elephant's tusks if it is housed in "captive elephant facilities.

Tusk trouble

They state: "This is the process of trimming the sharp tip of the tusk so that the edge is squared off. This makes the elephant slightly safer to be around as they cannot stab another animal with the pointed edge of the tusk.

"The process of blunting or trimming a tusk is not painful because there are no blood vessels or nerves in the external portion of the tusk.

"Therefore, a decent amount of the tooth can be trimmed before causing any discomfort to the animal."

Yet, in a darker side, some ivory hunters cut tusks to sell the much-coveted ivory on the black market.

Amber then jetted to Dubai with a holiday with "no bad vibes" - in an apparent dig at her ex.

She then confronted Dan for staying the night with Ella and told him she "couldn't care less" about their kiss.
