Shocking moment motorcyclist loses control and crashes while fleeing police after being caught speeding more than 70km/h over the speed limit

 The heart-pounding moment a motorcyclist loses control of his bike and hits the asphalt after being caught going 72km/h over the speed limit has been caught on dashcam. 

The footage from February 17 shows the rider, 30, zooming off down a highway passed glowing police sirens before fishtailing and crashing, sending sparks showering from his bike.

The 30-year-old rider sped off from a police stop (pictured left) but quickly lost control of his bike, fishtailed and hit the asphalt sending up a shower of sparks behind him (pictured right) 

As the officer was speaking to him, the rider suddenly hit the throttle and took off, which led to him crashing. 

Police and other drivers provided first aid to the man who was transported to Mackay Base Hospital for treatment and later discharged. 

Following an investigation the man was slapped with $3,000 in fines.

He was given a $321 fine for not being in control of his vehicle, a $551 fine for careless driving, an $827 fine for failing to remain in place, and a whopping $1286 fine for speeding by more than 40km/h.

He also was issued eight demerit points and had his license suspended for six months.

The rider was fined $3,000 for a number of offences and was treated in hospital and has recovered after the incident (pictured)
