The insulation-covered room had a children's bed, an antique dresser, and a window with sheer white curtains.
'I’m not scared, you are. #creepy #scary #fyp #renovation,' they captioned footage, which was set to eerie music that featured the sound of children laughing.
The video has been viewed more than 7.9 million times since it was posted on February 27, and many TikTok users found the room to be disturbing.
Some were so freaked out they claimed they saw the curtain moving or someone standing in the window.
'Definitely saw a figure of a girl in white. Immediately got bad vibes. Overwhelming sadness. Definitely a room meant to be hidden,' one person wrote.

The owners responded, saying they agree that 'it's like you can see someone standing there behind the curtain' when you zoom in on the window.
'That’s haunted,' someone else added. 'I’m telling you now that’s haunted.'
A number of people theorized that it was a 'disappointments room,' where families kept children who were suffering from physical or mental disabilities hidden from the public eye.
The 2016 horror film 'The Disappointments Room' starring Kate Beckinsale is about a family who moves into an old home and discovers a locked-up space where a child was kept.
The movie was inspired by a Rhode Island woman who discovered a room on the third floor of her colonial home that had a metal floor and a deadbolt on the outside.
One viewer wanted to know how the antique dresser got into the room, and the owners were admittedly stumped
The old dresser, which couldn't have been taken apart, was too large to fit into the scuttle hole or the window
The owners added that the antique also couldn't be put on its side and slid into the room
After doing some research, she learned that the judge who had built the house locked his disabled daughter in that room. The librarian shared her story on an episode of HGTV's 'If Walls Could Talk.'
'Is that Disappointment Room? Was their little girl sick? or something else?' one person asked.
'A disappointments room. They used to hide children with disabilities and birth defects,' another added.
'I wonder what was wrong with the girl to keep her in a disappointment room?' someone else wondered.
There were also a number of people who insisted it was merely an attic bedroom, noting that the room was abandoned in the early 1990s, not the 1890s.
'I'm not getting bad vibes from this,' one TikTok user wrote. 'I feel like they just couldn’t afford a bigger house [and] had to make the space work.
'Some people in the comments are wild,' someone else argued. 'This was a kid's room 30 yrs ago. As in the early 90s. They probably had more kids than rooms. Not that deep.'

'The dresser is an antique, so it could not have been put together in the room,' they explained in a follow-up video.
