The only child of Lily and Frank Dutton, she married Geoffrey Bullen and they lived in Birmingham for many years. He passed away in 1988, aged 68.

She has three children, Tricia, Dayl and Martyn and five grandchildren, Amanda, Joanne, Adam, Holly and Frank.

She is also great grandmother to four - Tobey, Mila, Alfie, and Lottie.

According to her granddaughter, Holly West, 40, from Worcester: 'Her favourite pastime when she can is to watch her great-grandchildren play.'

She added that the adventurous centenarian is not afraid to try new things.

'At the age of 99 the home took Nan ice skating for the first time in her life at Webb’s, she loved it,' Holly revealed.

'She had a surprise birthday party for her 100th birthday, where she did a tequila shot, she also did a Jägerbomb and tequila shot at our wedding in 2013.'

Given Lily's long lifespan, she has also witnessed hard times too, according to Holly.

'The world went into lockdown the week after her birthday,' she said.

'She's been reminiscing about the Birmingham bombings with the Russia Ukraine news.'
