Unpheasant encounter! Moment postman tries to fend off crazed pheasant who terrorises him every day

An angry pheasant has been repeatedly attacking a postman as he tries to do his rounds.

Footage shows the beaked bully chasing Mark Brough, 49, and repeatedly lunging to nip his legs on January 25.Window cleaner Chris Stubbs, 35, filmed the postman swinging his bag at the pheasant to defend himself but it keeps running after him down the street.

Father-of-two Mark claims the bird often chases him on his route in Cheddleton, Staffordshire, and that residents of Vale View have 'had enough' of the bird's aggressive antics. The 'beaked bully', a wild pheasant that has taken to harassing people on a street in  Cheddleton, Staffordshire, was caught on camera trying to nip Mark Brough, 49, a postman

The 49-year-old says he sees the humour in the situation, despite having been nipped by the pheasant on previous occasions and a resident saying his 'mayhem' has become a 'regular thing'.

From the safety of his van, Mark has filmed his own clip teasing the bird with jokes about 'pheasant pie'.

In response the winged fiend can be seen squaring up to the camera, before pecking the phone out of the postman's hand.

Mark, from Leek, Staffordshire, said: 'The street is only a little street, but the bird is causing mayhem.

'I've had geese come after me before, but never a pheasant.

'I think this is a wild pheasant that somebody on the street is feeding and I'll have an encounter with the pheasant most days.

'I think a lot of the residents have had enough of it, because it keeps attacking people.

'It did nip me on my leg a few weeks ago. It didn't hurt, but you don't expect it.

'I saw Chris filming the video from a distance. I'm up for a bit of fun though, I thought it was funny.'

Chris captured the video while on a job in Cheddleton, Staffordshire, and admits that he's fallen victim to the pheasant too.

He said: 'This pheasant is always on the street. Mark is getting it from him every day, it's become a regular thing.

'There's a family that run the local shoot and they breed pheasants, so there's a high population of them in that area.

'This one seems to have taken that street as its territory.

'It tends to only go after Mark. But to be fair, after he left, I carried on window cleaning and it started following me around as well.

'It's a very aggressive bird.

'I just thought the video would be funny to people in the area and friends.'

Once Chris shared the video to Facebook, friends took to the comments as they laughed at Mark's predicament.

Anthony Brown commented: 'Bet that was a rather unpheasant surprise.'

Another commenter wrote: 'My ex used to get attacked by a rooster everyday... ended up posting the mail in the customer's mum's house next door.'

Andy Clifford said: 'The bird whisperer. In all seriousness, stunning looking birds, great colours.'
