Shocking footage shows Dean being floored by Brandon Sillence as Becky's son tried to defuse a row between his cousin and another man outside the Waverley Hotel pub in Bangor, north Wales, on September 19, 2020.

The distressing clip shows Dean falling to the floor after the brute ambushed him from behind on a night out - with jurors hearing the young man was effectively dead before he hit the ground.

Sillence, 25, pleaded guilty to manslaughter but was cleared of murder after a trial at Caernarfon Crown Court. He also admitted assault causing actual bodily harm and was jailed for 10 years

Grief-stricken mum Becky has now released the harrowing video as her family step up their campaign for tougher sentences for one-punch killers. The devastated mum said: "You can clearly see by the video that the police have released, that Brandon 'Coward' Sillence punched my son from behind.

"Dean couldn’t even see it coming, it killed him instantly because he hit him that hard and forcefully.

"What sort of coward hits someone from behind and leaves him on the floor, then walks away knowing the damage he had done?"

The family has now launched a petition calling on the UK Government to sentence attackers in the same way as murderers.

It has so far garnered more than 17,000 signatures.

On the tragic night, a swarm of revellers can be seen seemingly arguing outside the boozer on Station Road before Sillence struck.

And in a cruel twist of fate, the beloved son had been attempting to act as a peacemaker during a spat between cousin Taylor and another punter before Dean is sent sprawling to the floor by the punch.

Dean couldn’t even see it coming, it killed him instantly because he hit him that hard and forcefully.

His horrified pals can be seen rushing over to him as he lays limply on the street.

Tragic Dean was rushed to hospital where a CT showed he was suffering from a fractured skull and bleeding on the brain.

The 20-year-old then sadly died the next morning.

But Becky said she was furious at the sentence of her son's killer as Sillence began his ten year sentence.

She said: "How is this not an intentional act of violence to cause harm?

"To all that defended Brandon by saying it was a pub fight, shame on all of you. My son and nephew were attacked by this coward, Brandon.

"As the judge said, he was willing to punch his own shadow that night which resulted in my son's death, and affected our family lives forever."

A court heard Sillence, of Toronnen, Bangor, was a "boxing enthusiast" who landed a "forceful, swinging" punch from behind Dean.

He hit the young lad with such force that Dean effectively died before he hit the ground, jurors were told.

A post mortem revealed the blow had caused his skull to rotate "rapidly and violently" on the top of the spine.

Judge Geraint Walters described Sillence as "aggressive, confrontational" and acting like "the big I am" on the fateful night.

He said: "It was not a warning slap but a forceful punch by a man skilled in punching who knew the kind of damage that you were capable of, should you choose to inflict it."
