Wrong turn! Moment Turkish motorist drives along tram tracks into station in front of stunned passengers

 This is the moment a confused motorist ended up driving along a tram line into a station in front of waiting passengers.

Fortunately no one was injured in the incident on December 30. 

Video shows stunned bystanders on the platform watch the saloon drive along the rails.

The vehicle starts to slow down, and stops beside the platform. 

The car got stuck on the line, according to local media reports, and passengers called the fire brigade and police.

It was later hauled out, Turkish news site Haberler reported.

The Topkapı Istasyonu station is located in Turkey's Fatih district, known as the 'historical peninsula' of Istanbul.

It serves the city's T1 tram line, which runs for just over eleven miles.
