Moment 'teenage estate gang' pick up and carry away Jewish boy, 9, in London before 'dumping him crying in a front garden'

This is the moment a gang pick up and carry away a Jewish boy on his way home from school in London before 'dumping him in a front garden'.

Footage shows the nine-year-old walking along a pavement before being approached by around five people in Stamford Hill at around 5.55pm last Thursday.

He is then seen being lifted by a member of the group, who hurries across the road while holding him and out of the camera's shot.

Chaim Hochhauser, supervisor of neighbourhood watch group Shomrim, told MailOnline that the boy has been left too scared to go out alone since the incident.

He claimed the group, called 'Webb Estate gang', are aged 14 to 16 and have been carrying out attacks against Jewish children in the area for over a year.

One suspect has been identified and issued with an anti-social behaviour warning, said the Met, adding that the boy was not injured and the incident is not being treated as a hate crime.

Stamford Hill Police has further confirmed it is aware of concern around individuals connected to the Webb Estate, and is patrolling the area in response.Footage shows the nine-year-old walking along a pavement before being approached and stopped by around five people in Stamford Hill at around 5.55pm last Thursday

Shomrim posted the clip online last night, writing: 'Webb Estate Gang carry off a frightened Jewish boy on way back from school.

'Another horrible racist attack by this vile lawless gang.'

Over the past month, the group has shared four posts with the hashtag #WebbEstateGang.

Mr Hochhauser, of the Stamford Hill branch of Shomrim, told MailOnline: 'The boy was coming out of school last Thursday at around 5.55pm and a group of people who we call the Webb Estate Gang stopped him and wouldn't let him get through.

'They picked him up and took him over the road before dumping him in a front garden. The kid was crying and has been left afraid to go out alone - this gang do live in the neighbourhood.

'It's something that's been going on for quite a long time - for over a year now and not all of them live on Webb Estate.

'The gang is a group of six or seven, aged around 14-16, and they're all local.

'When they see a Jewish child with a bike they often take it away, not to steal it but just to chuck it down the road and make them feel afraid.'

He added: 'We picked up the pressure and posted about the gang more, and every time we put out another message the police say they are looking into it, but it gets to the stage where enough is enough.

'A few weeks ago, for example, when a school finished the gang was waiting outside the gates and it was on lockdown for half an hour until they walked off.

'I've spoken to the parents of the boy [in the video] and we've shown him the clip.

'We've tried to calm him down and reassure him he should go out again on the streets - it was only 6pm, he can't be locked up at home.

'His parents are shocked and upset - they don't know what to do.'

Police confirmed that officers attended and spoke to the boy's mother, who did not wish to take any further action.

A spokesperson for the Met said: 'Police were called at around 18:30hrs on Thursday, 9 December to a report that a group of teenagers had approached a boy, aged nine, as he was walking down Osbaldeston Road, N16.

One suspect has been identified and issued with an anti-social behaviour warning, said the Met, adding that the boy was not injured and the incident is not being treated as a hate crime

'It was reported that one of the group picked up the boy and carried him to a nearby front garden where they let him go. He received no injuries.

'Officers attended and spoke to the victim’s mother. She did not wish to take any further action and the incident is not being treated as a hate crime.

'One suspect has been identified and issued with an anti-social behaviour warning. Enquiries are underway to identify others involved.'

Shortly after footage was posted of the latest alleged attack, Stamford Hill Police also said: 'We are aware of concern around individuals connected to #WebbEstate.

'Safer neighbourhood team officers have been patrolling in response and are making good progress in identifying suspects.

'Individuals connected are being investigated for both ASB [anti-social behaviour] and more serious criminal offences.'
