MARK Wright and Michelle Keegan are to turn their lavish new mansion into a fortress.

The stunning country pad has been fitted with 360 degree motion-sensing cameras, and plans to ring their lavish new mansion with electric security gates and a high wall have been submitted to the local council.

The couple has asked for permission to build “entrance gates, piers and walls”, but the detailed plans are yet to be revealed.

Their team previously withdrew an application when local politicians said their security plans would block a footpath.

It had been hoped the proposed plans would prevent a repeat of Mark's car being pinched in January.

The radio host turned to social media to get his £65,000 Range Rover back after it was swiped from the drive of his current home.

But the local parish council said of the plan's 2.1m walls in a letter of objection: “The design of the high walls, together with the pillars and the gates, are out of keeping with the rural setting, and would detract from the rural nature of this particular area of the Parish.

“In addition, a public footpath currently runs through this property, and whilst we understand there may be possible applications to alter this in the future, we could not at this time support a planning application which would effectively block a public right of way.”The council will rule on the new application in the coming weeks.

The couple's £1.3 million development is nearing completion and they have been sharing its progress on Instagram.

It will boast a stunning landscaped garden with new trees planted behind an outdoor pool as well as a golf course and football pitch.

There is also a huge make-up room which joins up with an even bigger dressing room on the first floor.

Each of the property’s five bedrooms has its own en-suite, while three of them have dressing rooms.

The master bedroom has its own glass balcony so the couple can enjoy the countryside views.
