Incredible moment TWELVE zookeepers wrestle sex-obsessed 350kg monster reptile named Kanye to 'alligator jail' until he cools off and stops attacking other animals

An American Alligator at an Australian zoo is so sex-obsessed and aggressive, 12 zookeepers had to wrestle the beast and take him to isolation.

Named Kayne West after the US megastar rapper, the 350kg monster was carted off to the zoo's alligator jail where he will have to spend a few months away from his victims to 'calm down'.

But capturing the 4m creature who shares a lagoon with 54 others at the Australian Reptile Park on the NSW Central Coast and can 'take an arm off' without breaking a sweat was 'no easy task'.Kanye, an American Alligator at the Australian Reptile Park (pictured) has become so sex-obsessed and aggressive, 12 zookeepers had to wrestle the beast and take him to isolate

The team started by lassoing Kayne's top jaw and dragging him away from the water's edge where the prehistoric predator can easily grab a hold of a person and quickly drown them under the surface into a death roll

'So the plan was to catch Kayne and take him out the back so he can have a little bit of time out,' the zoo's head of reptiles and spiders, Daniel Rumsey, said.

'But there is nothing easy about moving a 350kg American alligator. It was intense.

'He's one of the most dangerous and aggressive here and at his size he'd take an arm off with no worries.

But with his 80 teeth and jaws strong jaws can crack a turtle shell far enough away from the lagoon, 12 wildlife experts then had the unenviable job of pouncing on its back and taping its jaws shut.

Eventually the team were able to cart him off to a quiet spot where he can't do any more harm.

Zookeepers said the male alligator became increasingly aggressive now that the weather is heating up and mating season is underway.

While it's common for the reptiles to roar in an attempt to attract females, park director Tim Faulkner said Kayne was taking things a little too far, charging at zookeepers and terrorising other alligators.

'Kanye has come out of hibernation explosive, therefore, he's a danger to himself, to the other alligators and staff,” he told ABC 12.

'Kanye has made the other alligators very tense.

'He's a young bloke, full of testosterone, and he’s raising havoc right now. So the best thing to do is to send him to the naughty corner for some quiet time out.'

'Kayne will spend a couple of months out there and once he calms down we will re-introduce him back to the lagoon and the rest of his alligator mates,' Mr Rumsey said.
