Tarjanyi is still under investigation for other incidents from his obsessive campaign - and it appears that this week he travelled to and around London by train from his home in the north west despite experiencing symptoms of Covid himself.

He has told followers in a series of online videos over the last two weeks of how he's experienced an intense cough and other symptoms which could indicate he has the virus and is capable of passing it on.

He should be isolating at home but is open about making trips outside.

And he attended Hammersmith Police Station yesterday to answer bail on another charge, he has said.

The harassment of Van-Tam came three weeks after Mr Tarjanyi, who is a family DJ and producer, also targeted Chief Medical Officer Chris Whitty in the street, accusing him of lying to the public.

How Geza Tarjanyi has become known for his anti-lockdown protests

Geza David Tarjanyi - also known as Gayzer Frackman - is a family DJ and producer who has become known online for his activism against 5G mobile networks, fracking, mask wearing and other public health measures during the pandemic.

The 60-year-old anti-vaxxer lives in Leyland, Lancashire, but has travelled around the UK over the past year to protest against Covid-19 lockdowns, including outside 10 Downing Street.

In recent weeks he has targeted key figures in the fight against the virus - including Jonathan Van-Tam in London and Chris Whitty in Oxford.

In October 2020, he held an anti-lockdown protest in Durham which was attended by councillor Irene Hewitson, who claimed that Covid-19 is a 'fake virus' which does not exist and compared life under lockdown to 'living in North Korea'.

Last September, Mr Tarjanyi lost an appeal to overturn a conviction for a public order offence after disrupting a performance staged by anti-fracking campaigners during the Lancashire Fringe festival in May 2019.

Preston Magistrates' Court heard he entered the performance area, filming and shouted comments at a group of women called 'Nannas with Banners'.Mr Tarjanyi has become known online for his angry and bizarre activism against 5G mobile networks, fracking, mask wearing, vaccines and other public health measures during the pandemic.

He calls those in charge of the pandemic fight 'murderers' and says they will end up in prison or 'swinging' for their actions.

The video which shows him harassing the Professor was uploaded to his Facebook page two month ago.

It began with Tarjanyi spotting Professor Van-Tam walking on the street in front of Victoria Embankment Gardens.

He said: 'Are you Van-Tam, aren't ya? What was really in that needle that you put into Matt Hancock? Why are you continually lying to the British people? Why are you smiling? This country's supposed to be in the worst pandemic of all time.'

Mr Tarjanyi continued: 'And what are you doing in the Ministry of Defence? Why would a health person be in the Ministry of Defence? Why would you be in the Ministry of Defence?

'You're a health specialist aren't you, what were you doing in here? This is the Ministry of Defence, sir. Are you going to explain to us?

'Why can't you talk, why can none of you talk? We're all supposed to be on the same side against the virus aren't we? So why do you keep lying to people?

'You're one of the experts for Boris Johnson, the liar, the cheat, to this country. Two seconds it takes just to have a conversation outside.'

The receptionist can then be heard asking a question to Professor Van-Tam, saying: 'I have a question. Pfizer, or, does it make a difference, Pfizer or?'

Mr Tarjanyi appeared to mishear this, saying to Professor Van-Tam: 'Yeah, are you wearing a mask? Are you wearing a mask?' - before adding: 'He's asking about the Pfizer.'

The receptionist then said to Professor Van-Tam: 'Can you hear me?' - but the expert replied: 'What? I'm finding it difficult.'

Asked about the abuse, the Prime Minister's official spokesman said: 'People working to fight the pandemic and save lives, which is what Professor Van Tam is doing every single day, should never face that kind of appalling behaviour for doing their job.

'The right to free speech is fundamental to our democracy but violence, threats or intimidation are absolutely never acceptable.'
