Terrifying moment girl, 15, risks her life by playing chicken with a FREIGHT TRAIN as it is forced to grind to a halt as she walked out in front of it on railway line

    A photo taken with a police drone shows the teenager standing just metres away from the locomotive, which came to a grinding halt after the un-named girl walked onto a railway line.

    Amazingly, the teen avoided any injuries but the incident in Manea, Cambs caused an hour of delays for trains using the route on Monday evening.

    The girl was arrested on suspicion of trespass on a railway and for an alleged assault on a woman who tried to help her off the tracks.

    Cambridgeshire Police's Rural Crime Action Team (RCAT) used the drone to help the British Transport Police to locate the teenager on the railway tracks. 

    A Cambridgeshire Police spokesperson said: 'A 15-year-old girl from Manea was arrested on suspicion of assault and trespass on a railway in Wisbech Road, Manea at just before 10pm on Monday (July 5).

    'The assault is reported to have happened against a woman the 15-year-old girl knew and who was trying to help during the incident on the railway line.

    'She was taken to Kings Lynn custody and has since been released under investigation.'

    The RCAT revealed that locating the teenager was one of many jobs involving their drone. 

    The team had been called earlier in the day to assist officers locate a car which had been used in a crime. 

    The RCAT tweeted: 'Multiple drone jobs yesterday for the RCAT. First was locating a car which had been used in crime and made off from officers then dumped near Jack's in Chatteris. 

    'The second Job was to assist BTP with a person stood on the train track in a standoff with a train. #Dronesforgood.'
