She also buys Mane n Tail Detangler - designed for horses - and Revlon Uniq one for style. 'It started when she turned one and her hair started growing like crazy,' Fliss explained.

'By the time she was two, it was down to her waist and now, it's so long we have to get it trimmed every six weeks which costs me a fortune but if we don't get it trimmed, it gets in the way and she'll end up stepping on it by accident!

'She's autistic so having her long hair is a security blanket for her - she'll hold it when she's out walking and it just helps keep her calm.

With washing her hair daily, Fliss often finds she has to replace the products every month.

'We wash her hair every morning and I have to buy special hair products to make sure we're looking after it properly.

'When she wears it in a pony tail, it's 24 inches and when it's down, it's 28 inches so it's a lot to maintain.

'We can't even put it up in a high pony tail because it's so heavy!'

Fliss and Alexis are constantly stopped by passersby in the street who are in awe of her gorgeous, Rapunzel like hair.

Fliss added: 'Every time we go out, people always stop us to say how amazing her hair is.

'It has lots of different colours in it - there's a mixture of red and blonde streaks.

'She's not once complained about neck pain so I don't think it bothers how how heavy it is - she's used to it.

'She lets me style it - it takes me four hours to curl it'.
