PUNTERS all dressed up for Ladies Day at Epsom have been forced to duck for cover as rain pours over the Surrey course.
With 4,000 racegoers allowed to attend today's meet, hopes were high for a beautiful day at Epsom.
The UK has been scorched by warm weather this week, with summer appearing to finally be on the horizon.
But Ladies Day attendees were greeted by a miserable grey sky and persistent drizzle as they arrived at the famous racecourse.
Some dolled-up ticket holders had to run for cover, while others opened up their umbrellas in attemp to shield themselves from the rain.
Members of staff on the other hand, went for the less glamorous option of donning their trusty ponchos.
However, the rainfall hasn't dampened revellers' spirits as those attending looked determined to have a good time.
Many were glammed up in sparkly dresses and perilously high heels, with fashion-forward headwear a staple as ever.
