  • Took to Facebook lockdown tips and ideas group to share amusing footage
  • Many questioned whether he'd done the same act before but hadn't been caughtA mother has told of the amusing moment she walked into her bathroom only to catch her cheeky two-year-old son scrubbing the toilet with her toothbrush.

Nicola Stitt, from Dumfriesshire, Scotland, took to Facebook group Family lockdown tips and ideas and posted a short clip of her blonde-haired boy Ayden hard at work cleaning, alongside a caption which simply read: 'Just my 2 year old cleaning the toilet with my toothbrush.'

Speaking exclusively to FEMAIL, the horrified mother explained: 'My eldest son Dylan shouted mei through saying Ayden was playing with a toothbrush down the toileut.. straight away I knew it was mine. 'I shouldn’t have laughed about it as he done the same with my new one a couple of days later. I’ve had to move the toothbrushes now.'

Looking like butter wouldn't melt with an all-too forgiving grin, it wasn't long before the post was inundated with responses from amused social media users across the nation.

'Ugh, I wonder how many times he's done this before,' commented one, while a second penned: 'At least you noticed before he put it back in your toothbrush holder.' A third joked: 'An electric one might be better,' while a fourth who also saw the amusing side enthused: 'At least he's cleaning.'

In the short clip, the cheeky chap can be seen gripping the end of a pink-handled toothbrush and swirling it inside the basin of the toilet, much to the mum's dismay - and amusement.

Many social media users weren't convinced that it was the first the two-year-old had cleaned the toilet using his mother's toothbrush (pictured)

And going by the look on the youngster's face, who appeared chuffed with his handiwork, not everyone was convinced it was the first time he'd participated in the stomach-churning act.

'He looks way to confident...I feel like this isn’t the first time and you’ve had toilet water in your mouth,' wrote one, while a second pondered: 'I hope it's the first time he's done it and not just the first time he's been caught!'

A third added: 'How many times has he done that before that you don’t know about though!'

Elsewhere, another joked: 'If your teeth are white and you add bleach in your toilet then he could have saved you the dentist teeth whitening fee?! Just saying.'

Meanwhile, others took the opportunity to share their own similar experiences in a bid to make the mother feel better about her now ruined toothbrush.

'Found our daughter painting the walls with the toilet brush when she was a similar age,' recalled one.

A second penned: 'My daughter done this to me when she was same age however I didn’t realise until I started brushing my teeth and realised my mouth tasted of a strong lime flavour.....it was only then I seen the Duck toilet gel smeared over the toilet bowl.'
