Woman, 29, reveals she kept her relationship with her husband, 59, secret for a YEAR after his friends assumed she was after his money

• She admits it took a while for her father to 'come around' to their relationship
• Tommy has been mistaken for being the grandfather of their children together A couple with a 30-year age gap, has revealed strangers constantly mistake them being father and daughter.   

  Devin Kennedy, 29, from Cape Canaveral, Florida, met her husband Tommy, 59, through a mutual friend nine years ago and says they hit it off right away, quickly falling in love.

  However, the pair kept their relationship a secret for a year before telling anyone due to their fear of being judged because of their age gap.

  Devin said when she met Tommy, he didn't want much to do with her but was kind to her son from a previous relationship. Pictured: The couple with their kids Kadence and Serenity 

  Stay-at-home mother Devin, said strangers always mistake her husband for being her father and even mistake their kids together for being Tommy's grandchildren.    

  'I met Tommy through a mutual friend that I was living with after moving from Maryland to Florida,' Devin said.

  'It's funny, when I first met him he didn't want much to do with me. But he was really kind to my son, who is from a previous relationship.

  'We started hanging out more and more, and I definitely fell for him first.'But I didn't know how to process that I was having feelings for someone so much older.

  'I hid my feelings for a while because I didn't want him to know, but I eventually told him. It just blossomed from there.

  'Tommy never worried too much about our age gap, but he did get a bit of flak from some people in his life.'They think I'm after something other than love, such as money.

  'I was definitely worried about what society would think. I didn't tell anyone or post anything on social media the first year we were together.

  'I'd been a teen mom and used to being judged. Eventually I got to a point where I thought, "You know what? Who cares".

  'Our family is doing well and we love each other more than anything. That was all that mattered.'

  Devin had her son Logan, 14, before meeting Tommy and the pair have since welcomed two more children, Sgerenity, seven, and Kadence, five.
