'3D geometry, selected vertices and procedural operators': Elon Musk's girlfriend Grimes shares topless video of her 'alien' back tattoo and details VERY elaborate design process
- The musician, 33, real name Claire Elise Boucher, unveiled her 'beautiful alien scars' tattoo, which covered her entire back, on Sunday
- She has subsequently posted tattoo artists Nusi Quero and Tweak T's design process and explained the techno ways they created the design
- As well as the design process, she shared a topless video
- Her 'alien' stylings come after her partner - the world's richest man - revealed an ambitious plan to get humans on Mars by 2026Elon Musk's girlfriend Grimes has shared the incredibly detailed design and process of her vast new white ink back tattoo.
The musician, 33, real name Claire Elise Boucher, unveiled her 'beautiful alien scars' tattoo on Sunday and revealed she had shunned the traditional black or coloured ink in favour of the unusual white ink covering her whole back.
Following on from her original reveal, she shared a video of the process and also the detailed account given by tattoo artist Nusi Quero, who she called 'an alien brain', in which he revealed how he and artist Tweak T had created the design.
It is little wonder Grimes was giving a nod to extraterrestrial activity given her recent voicing of plans to relocate to Mars after she turns 50 to help erect a human colony, while Elon revealed he is planning to beat NASA in flying to the Red Planet.
More detail: Elon Musk's girlfriend Grimes has shared the incredibly detailed design and process of her vast new white ink back tattoo
Nusi revealed he had co-designed the tattoo with Tweak T, who carried out the etching and sent him initial 'base shapes' on an iPad before sending them over to him to draw embellishments around using mathematical processes.
He penned: 'Drew the base shapes on an iPad and then emailed me the image file. I turned it into 3D geomotery, selected vertices on the shape and guided and drew the embellishments along and around the shapes that he laid down first...'[He did these] with a series of procedural operators (math rules) in a way that I felt spoke to his shapes and Grimes. I then sent it back to him as a png overlay and etc etc and they went in on it immediately full on 1 take 1 session. Ahh'.
Procedural operators are described by sciencedirect.com as: 'A general imperative programming device called a “procedural operator” is described...
Unusual: The musician, 33, real name Claire Elise Boucher, unveiled her 'beautiful alien scars' tattoo on Sunday and revealed she had shunned the traditional black or coloured ink in favour of the unusual white ink covering her whole back
Amazing: Following on from her original reveal, she shared a video of the process and also the detailed account given by tattoo artist Nusi Quero, who she called 'an alien brain', in which he revealed how he and artist Tweat T had created the design
'A procedural operator is analogous to the mathematical notion of a “functional operator”, and can be described in terms of a computational process which can be initiated, suspended, resumed, and terminated.'
After sharing Nusi's post, Grimes then showed off her back in all its glory while filming herself topless from the back and displaying the ink.
Her 'alien' stylings come after her partner - the world's richest man - revealed an ambitious plan to get humans on Mars by 2026 – seven years before NASA aims to land astronauts on the Red Planet.
In the caption of her original post shared on Sunday, she wrote: 'Don't have a good pic cuz it hurts too much and I need to sleep haha, and it'll be red for a few wks, but gna be beautiful alien scars (sic).'
Quirky: The Oblivion hitmaker, who revealed earlier this year she wants to help found a human colony on Mars, described her latest ink courtesy of tattoo artist known as Tweak T
The most common form of tattoo is made up of black ink and color inks, white tattoos contain nothing but a single white ink.
White tattoos are seen as a more subtle art form than common black or coloured tattoos and is essential they are undertaken by a skilled artist.
The marks will fade much quicker than with other tattoos as they are thick in their consistency but very lightly pigmented.
White tattoos will often cause a raised appearance as the thick ink causes scars underneath the skin.
Inked: The Canadian musician first revealed her new back tattoo on Sunday and she described it in an Instagram post as representing 'beautiful alien scars'
Family: Grimes and Musk, who started dating in 2018, share a son together, the unusually named X Æ A-Xii. The tot will turn one on May 4
Last month, Grimes took to Instagram, to express her extraterrestrial interests amid her partner's ongoing efforts to enable travel to Mars.
The star, who shares son X Æ A-Xii with the SpaceX CEO Musk, 49, wrote in the caption: 'Ready to die with the red dirt of Mars beneath my feet Starbase Tx.'
The Canadian songstress wore a long-sleeved black top with a red plaid skirt with black boots and floral leggings while posing in front of both massive cranes and the interior of Musk's Starbase facility in Texas.
Dramatic: The 33-year-old girlfriend of Elon Musk posted a photo to Instagram of the inking that covers her whole back.
Quirky style: The Vancouver native, whose real name is Claire Elise Boucher, started dating Elon Musk in 2018 and the couple welcomed a son together on May 4 2020
Grimes added of the ambitious move, 'Manual labor until death most likely, but hopefully that can change.'
SpaceX recently had another setback with its Starship project, as a prototype Mars rocket failed about six minutes into its test flight, according to the AP.
After the stainless steel rocket shattered in Texas, Musk took the attempt in stride, tweeting, 'At least the crater is in the right place!'
He noted that a 'significant' event took place before the landing sequence involving the engines.
'Should know what it was once we can examine the bits later today,' he said.
Elon said that he and his staff continue streamlining the design of the rocket, adding, 'Hopefully, one of those improvements covers this problem.'
Elon said earlier this month that his company will touch their ships down on Mars 'well before 2030,' and the vexing overlying issue of the endeavor 'is making Mars Base Alpha self-sustaining.'
In regards to his Mars plans, last month, he spoke on the audio-only Clubhouse app about his was to establish a self-sustaining Martian civilisation.
The ambitious deadline gives him five and a half years to get the massive Starship spacecraft off the ground - but there is a long way to go as the massive 160ft rocket is still at the prototype stage - with a second high-altitude test flight due soon.
Has the red planet in her sights: In February, Grimes shared during an online Q&A that she wanted to relocate to Mars to help erect a human colony there (seen at Starbase in Texas)
Visionary: Tech billionaire Musk, 49, has stated that his company will have space ships landing on the red planet 'well before 2030'
