The group of primates can be seen sitting on the roof of a tall building contemplating how to make it across to the other side. The first monkey can then be seen leaping on the line, gripping on tight and sliding down the wire, as though at an adventure playground.   His tail appears to wag in enjoyment as he begins to gain momentum, sliding on his stomach.

It briefly looks as if he will fall off but he quickly regains his composure before landing on a palm tree overhanging the metal roof of a lower building.

Clearly keen to outdo his friend, one of the other primates then jumps off the building onto the cable and also zips down the wire, but this time he does it backwards.

The daring monkey even glances towards the camera at one point and stops in the middle of the wire to stand up.

Climbing on power lines can be dangerous for monkeys, however.

Heartbreaking footage from January last year showed a distressed monkey being treated by vets for horrific burns and loss of sight after he was electrocuted in Thailand.

The monkey had climbed along an overhead power line before interfering with a transformer box at the top of a post on January 3 in Ratchaburi province, causing an explosion which engulfed the creature in flames.

Vets from the country's Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation were filmed caring for the monkey.
