The resident, who is also a beekeeper, was in the backyard when he came across the shocking sight. He later comes back and night to find the massive eight-legged creature feeding on the bird.
'That's the spider eating the bird or sucking on whatever's left,' he said.
A spider's diet usually consists of crickets, grasshoppers, lizards, frogs, rodents, or birds.
