The 61-year-old Celebrity Big Brother winner shared appeared short of breath in the softly-spoken video from his bedroom at his home on the English Welsh border and praised the doctors and nurses who helped care for him as 'warriors of God'.
Doherty was rushed to hospital last week after an illness worsened, prompting wife Roseanne Doherty to call 999.
He was later diagnosed with pneumonia and coronavirus and admitted to hospital.
In the latest video shared last night, Doherty said: 'Thank my god. They let me home about half an hour ago.
'I'm at home now. I've got a load of steroids I've got to take, just a bag of steroids.

'Just got to keep indoors now for 10 days and I'm a new man.
'So I want to thank you all for praying and just being concerned about me.
'But the most important people I've ever seen in my life is them nurses and doctors. They're a great team.'Can I just say one thing? Listen - you're on about a front line, not being a c*** or anything, but you're on about a front line - imagine soldiers, they've got to go up front first before the back crew gets killed, they got to go up.
'And that's what it's like, they're going up. They know exactly what's happening, and they're wearing this [PPE], and they can catch it faster and they're putting their lives...
'I've never seen nothing like them. They are the true warriors of God, true angels.

Last week the My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding star struggled for breath as he shared a video from hospital and thanked his fans for 'praying for me' as he battled pneumonia and coronavirus
'They've nerves of steel. I was afraid there. It was 50-50, it wasn't even 50-50 but I lived to tell the story.
'Them nurses and doctors - thumbs up - there's no words for them. They're just a different level. They're the greatest people on the planet.
'Without them, life wouldn't exist.'
As he signed off by saying 'I'm home, I'm home', he asked fans to pray for nurses and doctors and added: 'God be good to them all and their families.'
Mr Doherty, who previously lived in Flintshire, suffered extreme exhaustion which left him stuck in bed for two days after he first fell ill.
As his condition worsened, his worried wife Roseanne alerted emergency services before he was taken to hospital in Chester.
He was placed on oxygen by doctors to help him fight the illnesses.
Last Friday, Doherty urged his fans not to underestimate coronavirus as he was admitted for treatment.
The reality TV star said although he was reluctant to go to hospital, paramedics told him he may not wake up the following morning if he stayed at home.
In a video shared from his hospital bed, he warned fans the virus was 'not a joke' as he thanked them for their well wishes and added: 'Be lucky, be safe and God bless you all. Look after yourself.'
Doherty's son Simey had written on Facebook: 'Can everybody please keep my father in prayer as I was just speaking to him and he has got double pneumonia. Also claw seen in the lungs and tested positive for Covid.'

And his wife Roseanne added: 'Please will everything pray for my Paddy - he has been taken in to hospital. He is not very well [sic].'
Yesterday, Paddy Doherty took to Facebook page to share his heartache over being unable to attend his late sister's funeral.
In an emotional video he revealed his distress at being unable to attend the service and say goodbye to his sister.
'My lovely sister gets buried tomorrow,' he said.
'Please pray for her family, her sons, her lovely daughter and her beautiful husband.
'And for my brothers and sisters. And myself, because I can't be at my sister's funeral.
'It's a bad thing, but it is what it is.'
In March 2019, Doherty had a five-and-a-half-hour operation to treat his prostate cancer after suffering excruciating pains when he urinated and passing blood.
He had his first operation at Manchester Royal Infirmary and said at the time how he had considered taking his own life because of the pain from the cancer.
Doherty is a British former bare-knuckle boxer who rose to national fame when he featured on My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding, a Channel 4 documentary about travellers.
He then won the eighth series of Celebrity Big Brother in 2011 after beating Kerry Katona in the final. Other housemates that series included Jedward and Amy Childs.
Doherty also appeared with another housemate, Sally Bercow, on the Channel 5 documentary When Paddy Met Sally which saw them stay at each other's homes.
Meanwhile, it has emerged the UK now has the highest coronavirus death rate in the worldBritain was averaging 935 daily fatalities in the week up to January 17, or the equivalent of 16.5 people in every million.
Statistics compiled by the Oxford University-based research platform Our World in Data shows no other country currently has a higher death rate per capita.
Britain overtook the Czech Republic, which had been at the top since January 11 with a death rate of 16.3, after publishing its latest death figures on Sunday night, when there were 671 victims.
Fatality statistics on the weekend and on Mondays in the UK tend to be lower due to a reporting lag, which means the country's death rate could surge even further into the lead this week.
However there are signs that Britain's crisis is starting to slow thanks to its third national lockdown. Infections are down by a fifth in seven days and deaths are expected to follow in the coming weeks.
Rounding out the top five countries with the worst death rates are Portugal (14.82 per million), Slovakia (14.55) and Lithuania (13.01). Panama is the only country in the top 10 list which is not in Europe.
