Footage of the shocking incident, which unfolded Saturday afternoon in the north-central Mexico state of Zacatecas, shows one of the National Guard soldiers standing near a car as a black SUV pulls up next to him while a second vehicle stops in front of the entrance.
The startled soldier immediately raises his hands as at least six men carrying military rifles ran out of their vehicles at the base located in the municipality of Jerez.

Subsequently, the guardsmen is ordered to lie on the dirt pavement while the armed men hold other individuals at gunpoint. At least two other men appear to search the perimeter for the another member of the National Guard.
The soldier in the video is pushed into the white SUV and the footage cuts off before the second soldier is abducted.
The soldiers, identified by Mexican newspaper El Heraldo de Mexico as Orión Reyes, 42, and Fernando Quiroz, 37, were found by state and local police Monday before dawn on a highway in the Zacatecas city of Fresnillo.

The National Guard said Reyes and Quiroz were both unharmed and in good health.
Zacatecas Governor Alejandro Tello called on the government and law enforcement to confront criminal organizations with tougher action to prevent them from destabilizing his state's security.
The kidnappers remain at large. It is unknown if they are linked to a cartel or local gang, and what the motive was for the abduction of two soldiers.
