Broadcaster Nana Akua, from Hertfordshire and CEO of We Love Work Paris Petgrave of south London, appeared on the show this morning to debate whether it is appropriate to confront Covid rule breakers.
Cruise, 58, is said to have given staff an X-rated dressing down after he caught them breaking UK Covid rules at Warner Bros. Studios in Leavesden, Hertfordshire, on Tuesday.
Radio presenter Nana said she 'understands and respects' Tom's alleged behaviour, winning the support of viewers who said Cruise was in the right because crew were 'putting lives in jeopardy'.

'I find it works in some respects', said Nana of the rant, 'I think the way Tom spoke was acceptable. He has a hundred million dollars riding on the film, the film industry has nearly shut down.'
'When I go to the supermarket I gel my hands, hardly anyone gelling their hands, I will make sure my mask is covering my nose and mouth. 'I will speak to the non-mask wearers and say what is the point? I say you may as well take it off, it's not covering your nose and mouth - why should I protect you when you're not protecting me.'

Paris argued that it isn't just Cruise whose 'livelihood is under threat', and that while she agrees with his sentiment, the 'aggression the abuse' is not necessary
Defending the rant further, Nana went on: 'In this case, with a virus that not only causes neurological problems, long Covid, and an awful lot of deaths to a lot of people, and I assume Paris you haven't been touched by it, I totally understand and respect his aggression and think it was warranted.
'If they cannot follow the rules they should be fired or removed from the set, because they are potentially putting other people in jeopardy.'
Viewers quickly took to Twitter to share their views, with one writing: 'Totally agree with what he said to these idiots. It’s folk like them that’s spreading it and causing businesses to close down and folk losing their jobs and lives.'
Another said: '@ParisPetgrave you are so wrong with what you've said on GMB. When you lose a loved one to Covid, you will soon realise how important it is for EVERYONE to comply with wearing a mask no matter who you are. @TomCruise 100% right to tell someone they are jeopardising a situation!'

However Paris argued that it isn't just Cruise whose 'livelihood is under threat', and that while she agrees with his sentiment, the 'aggression the abuse' is not necessary.
'I just think at the end of the day we're all under immense pressure', said Paris. 'There are high levels of anxiety, people are stressed it's not just Tom Cruise whose livelihood is under threat.
'There have been a number of businesses forced to close again after just one week of opening, when I was out in the restaurants last week we were supporting local businesses and there were people who absentmindedly broke covid rules, you get up to the toilet and forget to wear your mask.

'If the owner came up to us and began to scream obscenities, we wouldn't not accept it - there is no need to be so aggressive and so abusive, I believe in what he's doing but the aggression the abuse it's not necessary.'
Other Twitter users agreed with Paris, calling Tom a 'bully' and saying his aggressive delivery may mean people simply don't listen to his message.
One wrote: 'You can say those things, you just do not say them so violently. Just because of who you are, doesn’t give you the right.'
Another agreed: 'Really? How is anyone able to justify @TomCruise outburst?! Address the issue absolutely, you don’t scream at people. Imagine if that was someone screaming at ur son/daughter because they had forgotten the rules for a moment. Unbelievable.'
A third said: 'I agree with everything Tom Cruise said, I just think the delivery would have made me take him less seriously'.
