Age is just a number': Dereck Chisora congratulates veteran Povetkin on his stunning Dillian Whyte knockout after watching the fight with David Haye, while Andy Ruiz can only laugh as boxing reacts to Brit's shocking defeat

Boxing personalities and fans have been reacting to Alexander Povetkin's vicious knockout victory over Dillian Whyte on Saturday. 
Whyte was knocked outcold by Povetkin, with the Russian brutally halting his world title ambitions.
The Brit controlled the fight, flooring his opponent twice, but was thumped by a left uppercut in the fifth round that ended his hopes within a flash.

Dereck Chisora was watching the bout with David Haye and he congratulated Dereck Chisora who lost twice to Whyte himself, chose to congratulate Povetkin in the Russian's native tongue with a message saying 'my Russian friend, congratulations'.Chisora also shared an Instagram story where he was seen watching the fight together with David Haye in which he says 'all I'm saying is age is nothing but just a number'. 
Tyson Fury also responded to Whyte's downfall with a cheeky tweet of congratulations to Povetkin.

Whyte would have had a mandatory title shot at Fury's WBC heavyweight title if he had got the win over Povetkin.
Fury made a reference to the age Whyte's conqueror tweeting '40 and proud'.
Former world champion Andy Ruiz Jr couldn't hide what he felt about Whyte's defeat posting a simple tweet with a laughing with tears emoji face.
Fury's US based promoter also responded to the fight tweeting: 'Dillian Whyte was so busy fighting for his WBC mandatory position that he didn't see Povetkin's uppercut which knocked him cold on his ass.'
He added that Kubrat Pulev will knockout Anthony Joshua next and that the 'London bridges are falling'.
Boxing trainer Joe Gallagher was impressed with Povetkin's tactics though the Russian looked like he was on the ropes before his sudden victory.
Gallagher said: 'Povetkin has been throwing left hook body (shots) from the start, he dressed that up nicely and turned into left uppercut great shot. Heavyweight boxing just wow.'
Boxing fans were left stunned at the brutality of Povetkin's surprise victory after he was knocked down twice in the fourth round.
Twitter user AdamThomas442 tweeted the morning after the bout: 'Has Dillian Whyte woke up yet?' while trials46 added 'Didn't see that coming...and neither did Whyte ouch'.
Whyte did get some support from fans believing this was not the end for the 32-year-old and he would bounce back with a victory if the proposed rematch does go through.
Twitter user 1006atim tweeted: 'Have to feel for Whyte after waiting so long for a title shot. Heavy knockdown is the worry not the loss. But expect him to come again and win a rematch.' 
After the fight Eddie Hearn confirmed there was a rematch clause after the fight which took place in his back yard.
He also tweeted: 'Wow..truly gutted for Dillian. Big respect to Povetkin for pulling that out of the bag.I believe Dillian will bounce back in the rematch! 
'Bitter sweet but #FightCamp has been the best thing I have ever been involved. Thanks for the support, this really is the greatest sport of all.'
