China opens a restaurant manned entirely by robots, including droid waitresses, automated baristas and AI-powered chefs

Diners in China can now go to a restaurant and finish a meal without talking to - or even meeting - a human worker. 
A restaurant entirely staffed by robots has opened in the southern province of Guangdong, with more than 20 types of machines doing everything from waiting, cooking, food delivering and coffee making. 
The futuristic eatery would be a perfect solution for customers who worry about catching COVID-19, the owner said.

The eatery was launched by a Chinese property developer, Country Garden, under its droid catering group, Qianxi.

The robot-manned restaurant serves a wide range of cuisines, from traditional Chinese dishes like stir-fry and clay-pot rice, to fast food like hamburgers and chips.

The company said that Foodom is created in a bid to improve food hygiene by completely avoiding human contacts.
‘In a post-virus era, such robot restaurants can avoid human contacts at multiple stages. This kind of dining style meets the current needs and represents the trend in the future,’ according to the real estate developer.
The Chinese company claims that the robot-manned eatery is the first of its kind in the country, and even in the world.

Patrol officers were spotted donning AI-powered sunglasses with infrared cameras to check pedestrians' temperatures at a popular park in Hangzhou of eastern China. 
A pair of droids were also seen delivering medicine and food to sufferers as well as collecting bed sheets and medical rubbish in the Chinese southern province Guangdong. 
Chinese authorities have also been using facial recognition cameras, AI and big data from the world's most sophisticated mass surveillance system to track coronavirus carriers.
