    Travis Robinson celebrated his 745th day sober on May 13 by tweeting a photo of what he looked liked in the throes of addiction to opiates and benzodiazepines.
    The young man, who is from the US, also included an 'after' photo, taken over two years after he got clean — and the comparison drives home just how terrible a toll drugs can take on the body, while giving hope to others who are facing the same struggles.

In the 'before' photo, Travis looks positively gaunt, his cheeks hollow and his bones stark. His face is pockmarked, his eyes are rimmed and bloodshot, and his hair is overgrown and messy.
Most of all, though, he just looks miserable.
In the 'after' photo, he is unrecognizable as the same man. His eyes are bright and awake, his skin is clear, his whole face has filled out, and he looks clean and better cared for.

The tweet quickly went viral, racking up over 847,000 likes. It was also soon reposted on Reddit, where it got even more attention.
Replying to Redditors, Travis said getting sober was the 'hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life.'

Once out, he used the 'I Am Sober' mobile app to track his sobriety, and his health improved in other ways, too.
He said he stopped drinking soda and eating fast food, adding that 'most importantly, [I] drank a ton of water and stopped touching my face.'

The support has poured in for Travis on social media, with thousands of commenters applauding him and sharing how happy they were for his recovery.
'THIS MAKES ME SO HAPPY we stan character development!!!!!!' wrote one Twitter user.
'This is absolutely amazing. Not only can you see it in the skin, but you can see the difference in your eyes. Congrats dude,' wrote another. 
He also inspired dozens of other people to share their own before-and-after pictures and gratitude that they are alive and healthy.
